On behalf of myself, the governors, the staff and the pupils, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Blackwood Primary School.

We work hard to develop positive attitudes to learning and with high expectations support our pupils to achieve their very best.

Our Inspire curriculum design ensures that we combine the knowledge, skills and experiences children need to grow into life long learners who are empowered to take control of their own learning in a nurturing environment where challenge is anticipated and celebrated.

I always feel so very privileged to work with such wonderful staff and children and feel encouraged that the welcoming ethos of Blackwood Primary School is recognised by those who visit and comment on the ‘togetherness’ of the team.

I am extremely proud to be the headteacher of our school and enjoy being a part of the ‘Blackwood Primary Family’. We want every child to feel happy, safe and secure in school and our fun loving, warm and friendly atmosphere is evident in the smiles and laughter of our pupils.
